Plan your November in Windsor with festive events, family days out, winter walks, food fairs & seasonal fun across the town and castle.
November in Windsor offers a special kind of magic – a crisp air, moody skies, and that feeling that Christmas is just around the corner. The trees may have lost most of their leaves, but that only makes Windsor Great Park and the Long Walk more dramatic; misty mornings and golden hour walks are breathtaking. Trust me when I say this, but taking photos for sunrise and sunset is a lot easier in November, especially if you’re hiking up to the Copper Horse!
As the daylight shrinks, cosy cafés, warm fires and hearty pub grub take centre stage. I think this gives you even more reason to wander the town, duck in and out of boutique shops, or settle in for a long lunch at one of the many pubs and restaurants. I know that’s what we love doing.

There is still plenty going on through the month. There are loads of performances to choose from at Theatre Royal, both Windsor and Eton turn on their Christmas lights, and there are a few Christmas markets popping up too. Museums and galleries often host exhibitions that seem tailor-made for cold afternoon visits, and Windsor Castle itself feels particularly atmospheric in the lower crowds. Families will absolutely love Windsor Illuminated too. This is a stunning light trail that the kid’s will adore. It’s one event we always have in our calendars.
If you’re planning a trip, November in Windsor blends calm charm with warming treats – perfect if you love exploring without the summer rush.
